Post subject: | Tires [TreadWright Retreads] & Tint *updated* |
It's been about 7 months since I got my lift and I finally got my new tires. After numerous unforseen hospital bills and insurance bills I finally got to keep my money long enough to get my tires! They're retreads I wanted to try them out to see what I got for the price. $400 for all 5 mounted and balanced with a 2 year 24k warranty! I know it's not much of a warranty but I figured for what I paid it wasn't that bad and if they'll warranty them for 24k I should get plenty more use out of them than that. Here you go... ![]() ![]() 245/75/16's from treadwright.com, so far they seem to be pretty good. Haven't had much time to test them out but they seem to have pretty decent grip and very very little road noise. I ended up going with the AT's and they had them shipped to me in a day! I ordered them wednesday night around 5 and they were on my door step before I got home for lunch on friday afternoon! You can even pick you casings when you order so I got the MT/R casings and man those things are heavy compared to stock! I had to trim the little plastic "air darn" piece that hangs down about an inch on the front and that was it. I only had rubbing at full lock when backing up to the right. Before tires ![]() Enjoy.... [UPDATE] The tires have been exceptional so far! We went on a small trip to see the Family the day we got them on and they were great with very little noise at any speed. Had them out yesterday in the mud and on some small hills and the gripped very well. They seemed to clean themselves pretty well too when I got into the mud. There were a couple hills around here that I couldn't make it up no matter what I tried with the stock tires on. When I went out with the new tires I don't know why but for some reason I stopped in the middle of it and they continued on with no problem no loss of grip or anything they just went right on up. I'm really liking the tires so far. Hopefully I get decent tread wear on them and they will have been worth EVERY penny! Also got my windows tinted! I'm diggin' it... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Liberty looks really nice. BTW I didn’t know they made retreads for non-commercial vehicles. |

Absolute.....you need to but 2 sets of them to make up for that 2 years.......... Poke.....They look good. I am not a big fan of retreads but that's me personally. Let us know how they perform/wear. |

I will no doubt. They were a little tough to balance out with a couple using 2.5 weights but they got them balanced out just fine so no worries. I'm sure retreads aren't for everyone and that's fine but I figured I'd give them a shot and if I like them they'll save me TONS of money through the life of the Jeep. Not only that but if they're decent I'll consider getting a set of M/T's as well for offroad use only since again they'd cost me next to nothing for the 5. Then I don't have to worry about tearing up my daily drivers on the trails. I could have both sets for what most everyone else pays for one and probably a little cheaper. |

I checked those Icelanders out, and most of the sizes were listed as "sold out." ![]() Is treadwright the new name of hi-tek retreading? |

I talked to the salesman and he said to try clicking on the opposite region that you clicked on pervious. He's making me a load range D 265/75 and crediting me some $ on the load range E price. |
