Tire height does, some what, depend on the type of design. I guess a MT will be higher than an AT, from what I have read. A 245/75/17" I found was listed as 31.4". Strange!

A 245/75R 17 will be about one inch taller then 245/76R16 due to the different rim diameters and having the same sidewall aspect ratio,a 245/70R17 is about the same height as a 245/75R16.On a 8" rim the 245/75R16 MT/R's are 30.5" tall,on a 7" rim they are 30.9" tall.265/75R16 MT/R's on a 8" rim are 31",on a 7" rim they are 31.5",my 265/75R16 Trxus MT's are 31.9" on a 7" rim.Every tire company has a slightly different overall height for the same size tires(by the #'s),and rim width also plays a role of overall tire height.

So 245/75R16 MT/R's on MOAB's(8" rim) are only 30.5" tall.

Like I said really strange. Thanks, I think?, or all that explaining! I suppose there is a good reason why they don't just standardize the heights according to the tire size so all 245/75's would be the same height.

back when I had my tire shop I thought each size should be the same and every vehicle should have the same bolt pattern. would solve so many problems!!

it makes perfect sense how tires are sized.

245/75-16, for example. 245mm wide, 75 is sidewall height, which is a percentage of the width, and 16 is the diameter of the wheel in inches. easy to figure out from there:)

by the way...BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD rig Ivan. That's what my KJ wants to look like when it grows up

Thanks for the compliments, took 6 months of weekends to get done.

The tires are in fact 265/75 R16s. Sorry for the confusion, I just updated my signature block.

ARB lockers worked perfectly. In fact, my KJ crawled up one of the dirt hills in 4LO with front and rear lockers engaged - no problem. My TJ Unlimitted Rubicon failed the same test in 4LO with lockers on. The TJ only made it up when it hit the hill with some speed, it needed the forward momentum to make it up that same muddy hill. There are lots of variables involved to explain this, different tires, weight distribution, etc... but still an interesting result.

Sport - I think RRO still makes them, but just give them a call. Having installed them myself... I would install them using a different procedure than the instructions say. Instead of completely trusting their drill guide strip, I would just dry fit them, and drill the holes straight throught he rock rail's bolt holes, and then drive the bolts right through.

The antennas in the front aren't ideal for driver's line of sight, but the location has the advantage of having lots of clearance all around them for a good signal. This way I don't have to have antennas sticking out above my roofline. The front bumper hoop also comes with 2 mounting tabs. The TR rear bumper does not. I could have fabbed one, but it wasn't worth it. The drivers side antenna is for the Cobra remote mount CB. The passenger side antenna is for the Icom IC208H AM/FM dual band transceiver.
