Well, had a busy weekend. Flushed brake fluid, coolant and changed the transmission fluid/filter on Saturday. I now officially have fresh fluids bow to stern. Popped in a Ultima Red Top, too. Today I installed my new Midland 1001Z and a 4' Firestick Firefly antenna. Used the SWR meter to tune the antenna and got it down to 1.2-1.5 on cannels 1,4, 19 & 40. Here are a few pics of the CB install...

Looks great Mod! Question for you, where did you run the antenna wire to get it to the gate?

looks like you need a spring on it so you can open the rear window easier

Xodius: Antenna wire is run with grommet thru tailgate and follows the factory wire harness thru the door jamb. Ran it under plastic pieces along the side and under dash to the CB. Here are a couple pictures from each side:

tommudd: I have a quick release that is not shown for the antenna.

The install really was a lot easier than I expected it to be.

I know that is where most people put there CB in the KJ but I didn't really like it. I went ahead and put mine on the dash. It may block a bit of the defroster but not much and I dont seem to need it much around here anyway.

I used Loctite 100 pound double sided foam tape on the back edge, the left corner and then on the bracket on the right side. I already ran the antenna wire behind the dash but still need to get some power wires and rerun that when I get a chance. It held up well while I was out over the weekend and seems to be sitting there pretty solid.
