So I just got home from the first official LOST pre-run for next year's safari... KSKJ came down this way to run some trails and we decided to start things off with a bang

*drum roll*

We opted to start right off with Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass with a trip to Yankee Boy Basin. :D

The All-Star Team

Right away treated to the view

KSKJ wondering what all the hype was about

Finding out what all the hype was about... (KSKJ has video *make him upload some*)

The power station

Conquered Black Bear Pass and having lunch overlooking Telluride

Cruisin up Imogene Pass

Where are the rest of the KJ's?
Image

VICTORY!! Imogene pass summit

Picking his way through the flowers on the way down
Image

There was a water crossing... or two... or fifty

Treated to a nice storm in Yankee Boy Basin
Image

MMMM....Hail

Clouds lifted to a nice view
Image

Instead of gold we found a pub at the end of the rainbows

Rockin under the runoff

And heading back home

This was just day 1!!! Stay tuned for Day 2 tomorrow night!!!

PS....Have you made your reservations yet for LJS '09???? HMMMMM!?!?!?!

Great pics. I am glad you didn't catch a strong gust with those flying nun fenders and get blown off the mountain. It looks like a long way down. :D

Best looking shots from a trail I've seen in a while. If only we had a 4x4.... =*(

This are some great picture the color is so vivid. Some are so sharp they look like they can be photo-shop. Even with no action shots I’m sure you had a great time taking in all the awesome scenery.

We did this trail a few years ago (in a wrangler).
Who'd a thunk a libby would make it thru so tactfully!

Awesome shots.

So day 2 is now said an done and it was another great day of wheeling with beautiful weather :D

Started the day off by checking out some of the remote gulches and seeing what was hidden back there...
Image

Ever feel like you're the center of it all?
Image

After a few mines... it was off to Hurricane Pass
Image

We heard news at Hurricane Pass that Poughkeepsie Gulch was open and that several built vehicles on 35"+ all had to be winched up the big obstacles
(there are permanent winch anchors throughout... not that there's anything hard in Ouray though)
Image

We cruised down Poughkeepsie as far as we could before turning around and meandering back up.
Image
Image

Minor stuffage was encountered
Image

Looking back on Como Lake and Poughkeepsie Gulch
Image

Then it was onward to California Pass
Image

Chicks dig the new ride
Image

Too much time was spent wandering around the Animas Forks Ghost Town
Image

But we made it back just in time for an awesome camp dinner!
Image

Stay Tuned Tomorrow Night for Day 3!!!!!

I am normally use a Canon EOS 5D but all of those pics are taken with my point and shoot. It's a screaming deal if you want some good pics.

Kodak Easyshare 12.1 Megapixel
Under $200

I would recommend it over just about any other point and shoot out there. All the panoramics were stitched together by the camera, I just found the spot and pushed the button 3 times 8)
