Post subject:  A Stock Doable Run???

Just the other weekend I joined some friends on a trail run in a neighboring province. I was assured the trail was "stock doable" with the occasional strike on the skidplates. There were seventeen Jeeps in all, mostly YJ's & TJ's, a single Comanche and a Libby :D

Well I quickly realized that even though I had a 2.5" lift my 30" tires were a handicap (I gotta get some IROKs). But that simply meant I had to chose my lines more carefully than everybody else. I was so busy driving that I didn't take too many pics but my buddies did.

in the woods (I have no idea why I didn't lose the roof rack)

the other Jeeps, boy its some nice to wheel with so many Jeeps

the puddles weren't that deep but there were some pretty big boulders in them

the trail wasn't all water, most of it followed the power lines

I managed to find some mud to get on the Libby

To be truthful it was a "stock doable" trail and a couple of Jeeps did need the occasional tug. I'm proud to say that I only needed two tugs the entire day, didn't damage my Libby and was able drive all the way home. Oh, wait, I did tear my recovery strap and get some water on the floormats.

Sounds like the KJ did just fine! It probably would have helped alot to have some MT's but it isn't any fun if you don't get a tug now and again, right. Where were you wheeling? Looks like it was in the halifax area with the the NSJC? I'm from the brookfield area but have been living out west for the past four years and will be moving back in a year! Look forward to wheeling with you guys! Kj is looking good too. Do those guys nag on you for wheeling a liberty or are they pretty good?

Good eyes Josh, what gave the picture away? the Nova Scotia license plates? Yes I was wheelin with members of the Nova Scotia Jeep Club (http://nsjc.proboards38.com/index.cgi) and no, they didn't give me a hard time about my Libby. On the CB they did repeatedly ask where I was but that's because I was taking my time.

I'm considering some BFG MT's, something slightly larger with more aggressive tread. Some more skidplates would help too.

We were wheelin on the Ellershouse trail with several Jeeps including a few brand new JK's & Rubicons. The stock Jeeps occasionally need a tug and also hit many rocks on their skidplates. Winching was only required in one optional tough spot that even the Rubicons got stuck in.

I actually live in New Brunswick and belong to the New Brunswick Jeep Club(http://www.nbjeepclub.ca/soopportal/default.asp). I've seen few lifted Liberty's and even less on the trails.
