Cooler weather is just around the corner so we've been geting ready for our off-roading/prospecting season.

The new tires and wheels are on. Goodyear MT/Rs in 245/75R16 on Crager D-Windows, 16 x 8 with 5 inch backspace. We didn't have to touch the pinch weld. They do rub, very slightly, on the front plastic inner fender liner. But, as one member put it, "The tires are a lot tougher than what they're rubbing on."

The Super Skink sliders should be here in a couple weeks. Then, we'll be set for winter.

What kind of winter do you have in Arizona!?!?! You want a real winter...come to Michigan!! What kind of transfer case do you have?? I always wished I had full-time during the winter.

Our "winter" means daytime temps in the 70's. Perfect for getting out and enjoying the desert.

The xfer case is the Selec-Trac part and full-time. It came in handy on a winter trip through the mountains around Cloudcroft, New Mexico a couple years ago.

Are all us AZ folk invited? I lived in Minnesota for a couple winters. That was enough, although I do miss donuts in the empty iced over parking lots (that was fun).

But you guys don't be shy, feel free to come to sunny Phoenix next July! It is a nice late September day today, high of only 101!

Oh, and Sandracer, don't forget trick-or-jeep this October! Hope to see you there.

Tom ~ I didn't paint them. That's Crager's version of silver.

Pablo ~ I doubt we'll make it to trick-or-Jeep. My health still doesn't allow for travel too far from home. I'm hoping that starts changing by spring, after I finish the last of the treatments.

Today is the first road test on the freeway. We'll run into town and see how loud they are. Also ordered another tire and wheel for a spare.

Well........ after letting the suspension articulate a little bit, I did some trimming behind the front bumper and knocked down the pinch welds.

I don't mind taking the razor knife to the bumper now that the Mrs. has approved a new front bumper. So, I emailed RL and asked him to put me on the waiting list for a Rock Monitor bumper. I'm hoping that with an expected weight around 60 pounds, I won't need to change my front springs. I guess time will tell.
