or some other corny tagline they can use

Yes heat rises but for fire to burn a car like that it has to be VERY hot. A fire like this heats everything around it, which should include the tires in this case. They should use this picture in an ad.

Hmm, the paint around the bottom isnt burned either. There is nothing on the outside of a car to burn. The inside is really all that burns. All the carpet and stuff. Id say it doesnt get to all the oils. The turn signal isnt burnt either.

and the fender flares and wheel well liners are gone too.

I"m with the "fire burns up" theory. That and the fact that firemen love to use their axes!

I understand that auto fires can burn as hot as 2000*

In all my years doing my job, every car fire I've seen, the wheels have NEVER survived. They always blow out. The heat radiating from a car fire is enough to melt tires 10 feet away. I think what happened is that someone in that car lot put some extra wheels on it that were lying around just to roll the old burn victim around the lot. Still a cool pic though

Hey i bet i will start!!!!

I'm with the lower portion was submerged. that would explain the paint and the tires. if you look closely at the rear it is melted a bit every car fire i have seen all the paint was gone. The heat usually melts it off the car. That would also explain why the turn signals and the bumper were not melted and the paint line is somewhat straight...the heat alone should have gotten those.. Anyone got any more information on it?

Ever since I got mine I have wondered what it will look like in 10 years when it is just on the farm with the glass broke out, flares torn off and not much paint left, now I know. Of course my 94 Cherokee is not quite that bad yet with over a years farm use behind it.
I think they got it hung up in a creek somewhere, and it caught fire sitting in the water, saw it happen one time to a new Chevy pick up, hot dogs roasted over a Chevy are not the same as over wood fire!

And what happened to the roof? Looks like it was lifted by hooking to the windshield opening.
