not very good of a story teller. but anyways it was a very fun day. first time running a trail like that. it was fun. very worth the drive and the waking up at 4am. good thing i had a backup driver and had someone to drive me back. i fell asleep as soon as we got down from the mountain. thanks to KJ Willy for the invite! It was nice meeting the other military jeepers. it was a good time. i hope to stay next time.

It looks like a great trail to run, very nice scenery. I'd like to see that area in spring time too - so you'll have to go back there & take pictures when it starts to thaw out :D

let me know the next time you make that run! I live close enough to make the drive! 8)

On another message board I frequent there is talk of parts of GWNF being shutdown to all OHV traffic. Anything Harrisonburg is in charge of will be closed. Here is a link for more info: http://dnronline.com/news_details.php?AID=34075&CHID=2

i would have figured as much, by the lack of the moisture bleed through in the tracks in the snow the ground was still pretty frozen

Hey htkrph Got back late last night after a fun weekend wheeling and camping. Those pics are from Long Run Road Trail in GWNF, always something fun to drive on and with ice and snow can make it real interesting, we had a 4" lifted CJ on Mickey Thompson that kept sliding while going down, a couple of times he ended up sideways.

We had 5 of us camp out up at Dictum and 2nd Mountian One GC with only 2 wheel drive, 3 wranglers running 4-5 in lifts and 35 in tires and my KJ.

On sunday we went down 2nd Mountain and played a little. Got down to almost 33 and it was blocked off so we had to turn around and go back up.

When it gets a bit warmer we will have to plan another trip to actually get out and explre some of the other trails.

I will post my pics as soon as I can upload them.

^ yeah we should go up there again. before i go underway in the couple of months.

the best thing was when the guy in the mountain bike came by and said:
"i saw a rubicon, a rubicon and liberty, then another rubicon and another liberty. i could not beleive they made it out here. how did the libertys do?"

felt goood!
