Post subject:  Florida Everglades Trails (56K... NO WAY!!!)

So I went out to the Florida Everglades today and I found a couple of places where I was able to go wheeling. I must say I drove in about 2 hours and it was endless. I ended up turning around in fear of getting "L.O.S.T" as I made a couple of turns here and there and end up in the middle of no where... Weather was 65 degrees and fairly windy. I guarantee if I were to go back there after a rainy day... mud would be a definite thing....

Sounds like you need a GPSr with tracking so you can backtrack when you get lost!

you should go out on the actual trails out there; Bear Island for example. You have to pass inspection and go through a class to get a license.

Pics 4 and 5 are with my lights on. I have 5000K HID lights on both my headlamps and my Hella 500's.

The tires I have on my KJ are from Treadwright and are 245/75/16 OTR's...

As far as trails and what not, I think Shark Valley has some as well as Loop Road.

Big Cypress (Bear Island is located there) is listed on the top 10 place to wheel in the US. The rangers are strict with inspection 1 requirement being the tire tread needs to be at least 9" wide (the tread face not the tire). I made it through cause I had UT plates and the ranger was from UT and we both ended up on the tip of the nation's phallus.

Looks like a nice place to go for a ride, not all rocky like around here in AZ. I haven't seen a mud puddle in almost a year.
