Well I finally got my new truck, a 1970 jeep kaiser M35A1 with a white multifuel engine.

I LOVE THIS THING!

I had soo much fun driving it around on memorial day...

I jokingly say this is my economy car. I run it on used engine oil which I get for free around here from all the yachts (50 gallons from one) so even though it gets 8-10 mpg it costs me little to nothing to run it!

Bet you need a CDL to drive it on the road.

M35's are 23,000 GVWR , no CDL required

oh i forgot, the fella that was at carolina beach, had put masterlock deadbolts on the bottom of the doors to allow you to lock the doors since they don't have locks, thought that was a pretty nice idea

the dead bolt is a good idea... hmm. but the military used chains welded to the floor looped through the steering wheel. you can still start it but only drive in a straight line haha.

and NO CDL required. except for california.due to weight as the jarhead said :D and because of no air brakes. it uses a basic hydraulic system with a booster similar to the vacuum booster used on our kj's only it is run off of air pressure.

These trucks are awesome, fun to drive, loud, run on anything that burns, and are CHEAP.

That's really cool how it runs on pretty much any 'fuel'. You really could cruise in that thing a lot.

I think I've seen where people have bobbed them and lost the third axle to give a more truck appeal?

you might not need a cdl but i bet you need a D.O.T phisical and sticker..I got a work truck that weighs 12,000lbs and had to have that.

insurance - 2000 per year commercial or 300 per year collector. all depends on what you want to do with it. same goes for registering it.

top speed at 50 the engine is happy at 2100-2200 about 57 is the top end and the engine rpms are at 2500.

Alot of people bob the trucks and they are sweet! but that looses some hauling ability and payload. really helps turning radius too.

but if there was a camper it wouldn't be original!
