So I saw how 501 had made up some window screens for his rear windows and I just had to make some of my own. So after a quick trip to the local fabric store and a days worth of measuring fitting and sewing I am finally done! I think they turned out pretty nice and now I have to test them out on my next camping trip. I didn't have any extra fabric laying around so I got to pick what I wanted. I think I got some weird looks from the women in the craft store when I was out in the parking lot measuring my rear door to see how much fabric I was going to need. ![]() So here is the interesing part. The pictures! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I just copied what 501 had done earlier and just added my flair to them. I used some magnetic tape that I just sewed into a pocket in the bottom outside flap so it sits against the paint with a layer of cloth in between. I shall look into making more of these to possible sell now that I have all of the measurements. I just now have to add up all of the materials and work towards what it costs me to make them and move from there. |

Now just put some glass in it, and you have fixed the window regulator problem. ![]() |

Why both sides? Do you drive with it on? I would think you only need the outside with the magnets to protect from bugs while camping....or is both sides done so you can park somewhere and feel more ecure that someone can't just easily pull it off to get to you? |

I made them like that so if it got real windy they wouldn't blow off, but one could make them so they just 'hooked' on the out side with magnets. |

Yeah I made them that way for the same reasons. They hold better on the Jeep when they are like a bag. Plus I don't know how well the magnets all the way around would hold up when opening and closing the door with them on. Now I just need to work out a good way to screen the back hatch glass opening. |

I tried the back glass with velcro and it did not work! |

Yeah I was going to sit down and do some serious planning as I figured Velcro wouldn't work. I am thinking magnets and possible some way of hooking it to the hatch glass hinges to carry the weight of the screen with just the magnets holding it against the Jeep. I will post my progress if and when I get anywhere with this idea. |
