One of my favorites on location...nothing crazy like blasting through 3' of water or climbing a tree, but we had a lot of fun.

That is an AWSOME idea for that dvd player. You should post a write up on how you did all that.

I would think that the wood would be tricky if it should break for any reason while vehicle is moving ...

I have a case for my 7" DVD player that has straps to suspend it between the two seats It holds all of the accessories and several DVDs. About 20 bucks at Walmart.

priell3: I got a similar bag from BestBuy. I just thought it was a pain to set up. The biggest issue for me was my daughter and her carseat in the middle, the player had to be level with the headrests. It wasn't very stable and withing foot range. I used it twice for short trips and decided to just use it as a carry back since it has room for all the accessories and discs.
