Yes, kiddies, it's time for another fun installment of "Respect the Liberty", as we zip around the high country around Ouray, Silverton and Telluride.
Since the forum title is "Post your Jeep pics here!", and most of the images in this selection are more scenic in nature, I'll start off with a shot of a KJ we found in Silverton.
It's owned by a Silverton couple who have a gift shop very near where the D&SNGRR trains unload their passengers. We didnt get a chance to quiz them on their modifications.
OK, I'd love to see this thing out on the trails. It appears to be an M2 or M3 halftrack chassis with a trailer box behind the cab.
The weather was turning from slightly crappy to really crappy, so we headed out of Silverton towards Animas Forks. The road up there was muddy but tame. We picked up a nice coating of mud, and by the time we arrived in Animas Forks, blue sky and sun had returned.
Frisco Mill, east of Animas Forks along California Gulch.
A shepherd's shack along Placer Gulch. From Animas Forks, we went west through California Gulch, then south through Placer Gulch and east through Picayne Gulch. The roads were narrow in places but nothing very demanding.
A rainbow signaled the end of exploration for the day.
Next up, back to Ophir and Last Dollar
