It looks like it says "SECURITY" on the door. Can rent-a-cops run red and blues in IL?

It's a security vehicle at DePaul University on Fullerton in Chicago...this is where I am enrolled and they drive you around if you have problems (stalkers, live in bad area, drunk, cold) they will drive you to your dorm, class, or even home if its that bad of a situation. And they can go through red lights, since they are the cops in the area basically :D

Yeah at the mall near where I live the security guards drive around in white KJ's with the yellow lights on top. All my friends say I should start a club with them. lol!
