billforde, do you think there will be any amp problems from the slamming of the swing gate? I was going to mount mine there as it's a nice flat surface but decided on the back of the rear seats for the above reason. Let me know how it goes. If you don't have any problems I might do what you did instead as it'll give me more cargo room when the rear seats are folded down. Thanks.

I dont expect to have to much problems with slamming. I made sure i bolted it on through the piece of wood i added to firm up the plastic.

BTW, nice job :) The grey contrasts with the black really nicely and everything looks cleanly mounted.

Looks good billforde. How's the sound quality from back there? Any vibration/distortion?

Hey billforde

That is a great job you did to your swing gate. I was actually thinking of doing that same thing to mine, but was trying to figure out how to start it. I like the amp cut out.

When I finish mine, I will post my our come.

That's awesome. I was actually just thinking of what could be mounted on there (although I think putting a TV for tailgating would be cool) 8)

So no rattling?

Great job. Haven't looked but did you do a write-up in the "Fabrication" section on your cool piece of work?

What about speaker depth? Is there good clearance behind the pannel or is there a maximum speaker depth we should look out for?

P.S. Love the heated in-dash center channels!

He already has a flip down tv in it, I have one as well(15.5 inch drop down) Awesome for tailgating like you said.

Can you imagine?

Arrive in your KJ to a tailgate party.....pop open the rear......and have a TV screen in your rear door ready to show whatever game, movie, or show.

There isnt much clearance behind the panel, maybe 2 inchs, depending on location. The speakers i used, Infinity Kappa 63.7i 6-1/2" 3-way car speakers, fit without too much problems though.
