pepper, where are you stationed? Are you a maintainer or a pilot? I'm a -58D pilot (obviously) and I might be making the move to TX in the near future.

Is that an `02 or `03?

Time to add some mods to it. That is a nice blue color. Time to make it rusty brown color. There's a lot of dust out there in the Ft Hood area. Just don't get run over by all the tanks and mech vehicles.

i was in hood for 3 years,, that mud turns into cement!!!!!!!! it's an 02,, i am wanting to lift it but really don't know what lift to get.. need to put a guard an winch on it to..

There are basically two very common lifts used by most members. Rusty's and Frankenlift. You can search on here for other types. 2.5" is most common lift height. With an older KJ you probably aren't as worried about Warranty's so you can go higher than 3" if there are any good ones out there. If you go above 3" in lift, most dealers and Daimler-Chrysler will not honor any part of the warranty. Talk to your local dealers to find out what they will honor....and get it in writing.

You might want to hold off on the winch and get more important mods if you plan to off-road. Comes down to personal choice, but you will find almost everyone on here will agree that you need these three mods first (in no particular order - still gets debated on which order to get them)

a. Lift
b. Belly Armor
c. Side rails

After those three, you need to look at better (bigger perhaps) tires, straps, hitch clevis/shackle, etc...

Pepper, as soon as you get to Rucker, stop by The Hangar and get the TH-67 flash cards and get to memorizing 5 & 9. Don't sweat the WOCS, it's a breeze as long as you realize they are just messing with your head. What a/c are you going to be flying? USAR or NG? One more thing, get your nickel ready! Who knows, I might see you there when I take the -58D MTP course. FLY ARMY.

KW- i would love to stop by!! not really worried about WOCS, just basic all over again,, if i can keep my mouth shut this time  ,, i like to laugh.... my unit wants me to be a test pilot for the blackhawks, i know the guys that work on the suckers. may not ge a good idea as a test pilot :D  i am not really sure want to do.. watching them fly from them fly from the crew chief spot, it doesn't seem that hard to handle.. i would like to fly the Kiowa's, they get to do drug runs. we still have about 6 UH-60's left. i better got to fly those!!! i will be with the NG

If you think the Kiowa is cool, wait until they get replaced by the ARH. Bell won the contract a little over a week ago. Here's the link: http://www.bellhelicopter.com/en/aircraft/military/ARH/bellARH3.cfm
