My lift finally showed up!

Image

Image

Got OME 798 front and 948 rears. 300 SHIPPED from sierra expeditions.com
Bilstein shocks from AJUSA best deal I could find.

Awesome lift! The only thing is the rear Bilsteins do not fit stock location, so lots of washers. AND there is no upper inner metal sleeve. I DID not install one, and ruined it. So make sure you dont do what I did!

Image

Here is my Jeep post lift, I forgot to take a before!

Image

Here is some mild offroad shots after the lift!

Image

Image

Here is one showing trimmed front bumper on a 05 with Boiler's front skid installed, if you can see it in the shadow.

Before I stalled the lift I was going to install Boiler's Gas tank skid.

Image

Here it is, and the radiator skid, ready for top coat.

Image

Image

I was debating what I wanted for paint. I ended up with POR-15 because I wanted to try something New, I have never messed with it before, but I will again. It seems to have a VERY durable finish. That's the main reason I chose it for the skids, to resist scraping off.

Image

First Coast.... Chose grey to match fenders/bumpers

Image

Second Coat... You can see the brush streaks in it, but it's a learning experience!

Image

Here are more shots of the installed Gas Tank Skid with POR-15

Image

Image

So while it was drying, I decided to look at the rear tow hitch. The previous owner installed a universal hitch. As you can see in the following picture, it hangs down and ruins the departure angle. I did a few measurements and decided to flip it upside down.

Image

Image

So I trimmed some of the bumper and it fit after a few adjustments!

Image

Here's a shot of the front radiator skid (from Boiler) received same POR 15 treatment

nice looking kj. I am going to copy what you did with your tow bar, mine is looking like a ground anchor. but its a solid bar so will cut mine in 2 places turn it over and weld up using some thick angle iron to put strength back into it. Got to get some als arms as mine are rocky road ones and they still will not do alignment more wasted $. Wife sees how much I spend each time and :dead:

Looks great! Did you match the paint to the VIN?

Thanks!!

The ARB is stock color still (I know the pictures are poor quality). It is a little darker then the grey flares, but a little lighter than the hammered black that I have on my Skink Sliders/roof rails/and Komodo. I will likely pain the ARB with hammered black when I take it off again to mount a winch.

I have been traying to think of a good color scheme, should I paint the flares too or match the bumpers to the grey of the flares?? I am not fond of painting plastic for sure!

whats really weird is that when I looked at the pictures the colors were the same, only i was seeing the kj and art as blue :dizzy: guess the brightness needs to be turned up on my screen

On mine too and I calibrate my display long ago (Spyder 3 Pro)!

I install last week the liftkit I buy last fall , It's similar to arengant but my Bilsteins have blue rubber (HD) instead of black (5100?) and since I use the longer rear shock of Dakota 4 doors 4WD instead of the one for the Liberty they got inner metal sleeve. I like the front radiator skid plate he use, Por 15 seem to be a good product but i suggest you take a look at Eastwood site, there is a powdercoat kit you may like to try too :)

Installed my JK Ruby wheels/tires with Spidertrax spacers. Over all 5" BS 7.5 inch wide wheels, 32.1 Diameter tires (255/75r17) no rubbing anywhere :)

How did you mount up those mud flaps? I need mud flaps in the front and rear but have not come up with a idea on how to mount it. Also what kind are they. Thanks.

They are generic ones from O'Reilleys, I used zip ties through the holes in the inner fender liner (put two holes per zip tie in the mud flap themselves, total of 4 1/4 sized holes) I can snap a picture if needed. The work, and were affordable, but I don't care for the looks.

Working on taller bump stop in the rear or fender liner removal. The front also rubbed today in reverse while at about half turn (right were the pinch weld is) so I have plastic massaging needed. My wife picked me up a fuel can holder from amazon for a surprise present!

Looks like it's the same Rocklizard uses:

When the shop is up and running I am hoping he can fab me up something to mount to my OEM time carrier!!

And my Provent install... I am using a drain from an air compressor purchased from Lowes, took me a few different setups to find out what works well. I have to drain it a lot, and you can see some mess still, but I like the Provent still.

Today I relocated my washer bottle. Used stock location and top 1.5 inch of stock fill tube. Plastiwelded it and a new Ford Pump to a Nalgene bottle and got it all wired up correctly first time!
