Finally mounted my KC Hilight set

I decided to finally mount the set of Fog KC Hilight on the KJ.
These are Titanium finish, with standard white 130Watts bulbs. I ask the re-seller in the UK to have standard white and not the Blue-White that came with this set. I hate blue light in my face or in my mirror.
Note that the mount was not so easy because the metal bar in the bumper is very short and i had to fix an extension to be able to solidely fix the lights.
A small mechanic next door welded a 10mm bold to a metal plate i gave him. the metal plate is just long enough to create a nice support for the light.

I fixed the metal plate with 2x 6mm screws. It was really a pain in the a.... to reach underneath with the wrench and the bolt. But i did it through the holes where the tow hook is fixed. (had to remove the tow hook on the left habd side) Took me approx. 1 hour to get it right:

I cut 2 tube 22mm long in pipe of 2cm diameter. i fill them in with a piece of wood (to stop them to move around) ....ok, try there not to focus on the Coke can...not easy hummm ?? :SOMBRERO:

I cut the inside of the front bumper. The inside is black and very stiff. i cut one small scare on each side in order to allow the metal plate and the bold to come in.
(sorry no pic, the wife was screaming that i was doing that in the living...not even true, she laughing her head off

)

once this was done , i measured the distance of the bolt on the metal plate from the grill. just to be able to have an idea of where to drill trough the bumper.
I mounted the bumper back on, drilled 1 -2 small holes to see was the bolt, then used a 2cm drill through the bumper, inserted the 22mm tubes and fixed the light bases.

To me it fits perfectly, i can even remove the lights and the basis don't look uggly.

Looks good but I don't understand the part about the pipe. What is it for? Do you have a close pic of where you cut the bumper?

Hope this view helps to figure out the mounting. I will take all parts out soon to treat them against rust and take more pics[

sorry for the late feed back but here a re a few more pics to answer your question:
the section of pipe is the allow to tighten the light to the metal plate with the bolt = It fills in the space between the metal plate and the surface of the plastic bumper. without these pipes i would have just smashed the pasteic bumper.
this is a pic with the light still mounted, you can see the rust appearing at the top of the pipe.

I used normal steel pipe at first, and after just 3 weeks i could see some signs of rust. i open the whole thing, look a bit a the steel pipes, not very clever.... :shock:

As a replacement, i bought an aluminium pipe and cut the same small sections in it:

Looking good as usual, and good idea about the spacer pipe. Very important if you dont want to go near the plastic bumper.
