TAHOE installed my Frankenlift II Baja kit today. Although I do have to say I did install the bumpstops (after he drilled the holes) After a few hours of searching for a sensor and getting the passenger ball joint to seat in place, it was finished!

So far it has performed like a champion, with some minor squeaks and creaking. Bob Sumerel installed the 245 75 r 16s and aligned it while I grubbed on some City Barbeque. Netted 4.5" of lift before it settles.

I would like to thank TAHOE x1000 for his endless generosity and knowledge.

It feels nice to sit higher than 95% of Jeeps on the road

Thanks again!

Looking good! I like the tire on the roof too. How do you plan on securing it?

Lol after I looked at TAHOE's calculations and got out my abacus it is about 4.5"

About the tire...ratchet straps or maybe a rubber coated chain...Still thinking about it.

First, Brett, your welcome. It's been a while, but wasn't too bad even though it was freakin cold when we started, but ended up opening garage door by the time we hit the rear and I was sweating.
I think some young gun learned a few new tricks too :SOMBRERO:
Tires look good on it too
I hope you let your bother go to bed when you got home

Technically if you measure from the ground after the new tires, it's 5" taller :goink:
don't get your panties in a bunch Rev :goink: :goink: :ROTFL:
We estimated it @ 5" when we took pics, then when I went back and posted tape ruler pics, it was more @ 4 1/2" . I figure it will settle to about 22-22 1/4" so about 4" total.
It was all gong well until I went to put pass side ball joint back in, it would not seat for anything. I even tried putting wheel back on, then setting the - weight on it. I ended up pulling wheel back off, removing lock nut, then clean thread real good, then put a big pipe clamp from UCA to LCA and cranked it down....finally, UGH.
Then the worse, as I was putting the battery tray back in, that little sensor in the bottom of tray popped out....we ended up taking the skid plate off and searched for probably 20-30 mins for that thing. I was getting mad so went and finished up rearend which took maybe 20 mins. Then back to the search, ended up, that thing fell down and was laying on top of the cat converter right by frame rail.
So if I hadn't had to deal with those two issues, would've been done in 3 hours or so ( I was rusty, been while since I did one).
Wifey still wants your light bar

So if I give up the light bar what will I put in its place?

Don't forget to mention I got to scrape the mud off the skid plate from Mississippi, Indiana, Ohio, and all states in between. I believe we scanned that entire engine bay for that dang sensor!

Tom- I know what you mean.

Marty- he never went to bed! He met me for lunch and then hauled the tires in his Sonata!

Here's what I learned:

What an A arm is
What a clevis is
How helpful ratchet straps are
Where a ball joint is located
What the different types of lifts are
How important a breaker bar is
What a pinch weld is
How to measure lift how to install rear springs using a jack
Too much to list
How much better a KJ rides with a Frankenlift
How much of a difference 245 75s make compared to stock tires
:dizzy:

I'm next!!!
:goink:

Brettacuff, let me know how that Frankenlift II Baja Kit works out. Most likely will be buying my Frankenlift in February. In fact, I am buying my Frankenlift 3rd week of February. :frankie:
Late birthday present for me. :jester:

Might just go up to Ft. Knox if anything and have KJ_WHEELER_2010 (aka Jose) install it on base. :goink:

Thanks for the comments.

Widow- I'll let you know how it works out. I think the only difference in the Baja is the dostech shocks.

Nope.... I'm next! :seuss: :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

Already have all the parts, and will be confirming November 6 as the "official" installation date today.

Just have to decide on new rims..... :banghead: :banghead:
No 245/75/16's just yet, as I barely have 10K on the 235/70/16 Destination AT's ......
unless someone local wants to make an offer on a stock set of 4 on 6 spoke rims.... :jester: :jester: :jester:

Who let a Hoosier in here?
You're lift will be installed by the IL Crew, not Tahoe. :goink:
So in a sense, I am next. :goink: :jester:
I may just install the lift myself in KY (with help from a couple of friends). I have other Jeep friends that are not LOST Members 8)
Putting the lift on myself with help from friends here would save me the gas money traveling to Tahoe's. That way I could buy another mod for the Jeep.

looks great! should've put some 265/75's on it.. you for sure have the room. and good choice on the frankenlift. I've never heard of anyone who was disappointed with their frankenlift. in my opinon it is 'the best' lift for our KJ's! and your jeep is proof :JEEPIN: :JEEPIN:

Plus I'm on my iPhone and I didn't have it zoomed in to where I could see his location. :2cents:
