In my morning stupor, I did this pulling into my parking space (ironically in the corner away from others to avoid dings):   Now I have to decide if I want to get it: 1) repaired 2) replaced with new 3) messed with (trimming, cosmetic touch-up, line-X, etc...) and then maybe still "1" or "2"... Mostly, I just feel like a Dumb-A for doing it. Dan |

start with some bug&tar remover. see how much of the paint comes off. then move on to some really fine polishing compound. make it wet to keep the grit really low and gently work it over to remove the scratches. LESS IS MORE in this case. follow up with some crome polish (it's a stupid fine polishing compound basically), then clean and wax. that should take most of the hurt out of it and leave you with just a small reminder of your stupidity/carelessness.

Yeah, that'll get rid of most of the paint and some of the scrapes, but the skin is most definitely punctured (hard to tell in the photo). I don't think I'm going to put too much effort into trying to restore this skin to normal condition myself. The body shop is surprisingly affordable for stuff like this considering how long it would take to do it properly myself... |

Body shop should make short work of that, I'd just get it fixed. OR Good excuse to put on an ARB front bumper

I backed into a yellow pole before and dented my rear right corner. Left it there and a few months later I crashed the jeep. Long story short, new rear bumper

I ordered a new bumper off ebay for $100. and did everything up in bedliner. Total cost was $150 and looks way better than stock. The ebay bumper has held up totally fine over the last two years |

I got a quote from my body shop (did a FLAWLESS job when I god side-swiped by a 4-runner) and they came in between 5-600 (the breakdown was mostly labor and paint materials. The mopar part is only about $150 on the breakdown, but it'll probably be painted better than new. I'll just keep what I have for now, finish my front tow-points (which will likely scratch things up more anyway) and take it to ECS. IF I get home unscathed, my reward will be a new shiny bumper Dan |

$500-600 is more than half way to a real bumper (arb/rock lizard), plus your tow points will be included which will save you some coin. My philosophy when things break is to upgrade, not just replace. My brother got an arb for his grand after hitting a deer, and it didn't cost him a penny more than putting a new plastic bumper on would have. |

Yeah... but I'm one of those strange people that doesn't like the ARB bumper. Frankly, I don't like their tow points either. It's fun to fabricate in any case and I like the challenge of making something that looks stock and still has good off-road utility when you need it. If there were a bumper that actually followed the factory body lines and didn't require chopping the fender flares, I might look into it Dan |

I don't like the looks of an ARB either BUT after 4 deer, a Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet 1 ton truck its still on and will protect me many more times Each of the above would of been new bumper, hood, grill etc So my 200 dollar layout for the bumper back in 05 has more than paid for itself  Sundance had a half way decent look but there were issues with mounting etc Wouldn't have one if they were still producing them and yes there is only one real rear bumper

4 DEERS??? Where the hell you find a permit to hunt with your Jeep?  I know a good Gunsmith member of LOST do you want is name? I'm sure he can help you figure a better way to not transform your "Catch" in ground meat!  Joke aside, the Komodo is alone in his league, no serious opponents there...But I will not change my mind about the SC....Still prefer how he look over anything else no mather your "Hit" records, It's a question of personal taste...Like women i prefer them slim with nice forms not fat and bulky!  How hard it can be to fix those fracking mounts? Take the MIG and just do some bird poo here and there and we are set LMAO

If you use a gun to hunt deer there is a limited hunting season Hunting them with the Jeep its all year long Sundance should of had a mount more like ARB or something, the way it was you had to cut your wrenches up to fit in there to tighten the bolts etc. Poor design. |

MUDD is just bitter because I convinced him to install my bumper at 1 am, or did he convince me!?!?  It could of been designed better, but the bumper is definitely solid. 3 deers (going 65) and a gmc envoy going 15 mph in reverse , hasn't put a scratch on it...

Oups...Another Deer serial killer! After a closer look at the 2005-2007 version of the SC bumper, I have to agree with Tom, there is a major flaw in the design. No hole to get fresh air to the OEM transmission cooler or the intercooler (CRD). The way I seen it I probably change the center skid portion using a 3/8 or 1/4 inch plate instead of the 3/16, cut a hole in it with plasma to have a better access for installation and cold air for the radiator. Pure speculation from me since I never seen one with my own eyes but It's definitely look like a good K.I.S.S solution to a major flaw..
