It was a beautifull weekend down under.... again  so decided to take the kids out to the beach. Popped over to Bribie Island and setup camp next to one of the washouts to let the little kids swim safely whilst the bigger kids went fishing in the ocean.

Didn't take many photos but here is a nice panaramic shot.

And just a close up of my KK.

Google Map Location of Bribie Island Australia... if you were interested. I live just in Brisbane, which means I have some of the worlds best sand islands (Fraser, Stradbroke, Morten and Stradbroke) all on my doorstep so I tend to do more sand driving then track or forest work.

Great photos,
If I lived there I'd be out on the beaches all of them time with sand between my toes grinning from ear to ear!

Thanks guys. Topan the camera used was just an iPhone 5 and the new panarama mode. The original was muh higher quality but I had to cut it down a bit to get it to fit on the forum.

Beautiful!

I love Oz - an off-road trip through your beautiful country is on my bucket list. I'm jealous but happy for you and the time you get to enjoy with your family - and your KK! 8)

Bob

Thanks Bob... if it makes you feel better I'm jealous of some of the trails you guys get in the states! Getting to go through Moab, Utah for example is on MY bucket list :D

In early December a local "Jeep conversion specialist" workshop owner who is incredibly passionate about Jeeps organized a nice family day out to Bribie Island. It was a nice cruisy run to end the year and reflect on our Jeeps and all the awesome trips we'd done over the past 12 months in them.

About 25 Jeeps, primarily JK Wranglers, a couple of new WK2s and little ole me in the KK convoyed up the highway, onto Bribie Beach and set up camp for the day next to one of the freshwater lakes that sit next to the ocean.

We circled the wagons to shield ourselves from the barbaric Toyota and Nissan hordes!
Image

I volunteered my KK to act as the wind break for the BBQ... benefits of being a brick.
Image

In Australia the whole "Trail Rated" marketing tag doesn't really exist and we don't get them on any of our Jeeps. Most down here think they are a bit silly... needing a badge to tell you your 4WD can hit the tracks... but I thought it was kind of neat so ended up just grabbing one cheaply off ebay and sticking it on :SOMBRERO:
