This is a case where the picture really doesn't do justice. But here it is! This is Courthouse Mountain in the KOFA National Wildlife Refuge. Just a cellphone pic taken while I was eating lunch.

I had to go to Yuma for work. Afterwards I spent a day in the KOFA National Wildlife Refuge. Took the King Valley Road to the King of Arizona (KOFA) mine area, and then took Jeep / 4WD trails via Engesser Pass up to Pipeline Rd and then up to I-10. Wasn't terribly difficult, but after the mines was pretty isolated and I was alone. Left CB handset at home and Ham radio antenna wasn't working. On weekday I ran into (1) pair of retired couples in two Grand Cherokees on road, (2) lost original hippie in van, and (3) pair of southern hunters (or guys who like to wear camo) in Chevy pickup, who turned out to not really know where they were either.
