So before my little water mishap, like I stated earlier, I installed some extended bump stops to help stop the rubbing. Which I should have done a long time ago . I figured I would post some before and after pics.

Now I know some of you are looking at my tires thinking "My god he needs new ones" and the answer is yes I do. I am currently doing my homework on a new set (have been for awhile). I am going to stick with the Duratracs but I am exploring some sizing options. I am really leaning towards a 235/85r16 but I think they may be a little to skinny for my liking or 245/75r16. I want to go a little narrower so the tire can stuff better. With the wide variety of terrain I drive through I feel I will not suffer from a skinner tire and if need be I can always air down. What are your thoughts on those options? Oh and those Duratracs have over 60k on them :JEEPIN: oh and look worse in the pictures than in real life.

And.... I figured I would throw these in too seeing how I am currently dealing with this mess....

Looks like you're going to be going through a few towels on that project...

Well have not posted any updates in a while so I figured I would and get some opinions on a few things. First the family and I took a 3,000 mile road trip from GA to CO then back to GA. The jeep drove amazing except for one minor mishap in Oklahoma. On the way back to Georgia my serpentine belt some how shredded 12 miles from the nearest auto parts store.... and town. Now I usually keep a spare in my rig along with some spare hoses but when I went to get it I couldn't find it. I called around and found one from O'Reilly and they were nice enough to drive it out to me. Talk about service! After 5 minutes we were back on the road. My average MPG was 12.42, best 13.64, and worst was 9.76 (really strong head wind in Kansas). Total money spent on gas 456.72. Over all the trip was prefect but while in CO a massive hail storm blew thru and hammered my rig.

This is what it did. Most of my hood and roof look like this as well as a couple of spots on the side. I'm just glad no glass was broken.

Got with my insurance and and is going to get taken care of.

That looks like a serious pelting. I would imagine it was quite dramatic - were you in the Jeep when the hailstorm hit?

Now on to the rig. So I've done a few minor things such as new ball joints (MOOG), inner and outer tie rods (MOOG), and all new fluids for the trip. I switched out the bulbs in my gauges (A pillar pod) with some LEDs from Autometer and got some new tires. I decided to stay with the Duratracs in 265/75. My last set lasted over 60,000 miles with 0 problems. I have a few things in the works but wanted some opinions. I am thinking about putting some diamond plate on my rear bumper and rock rails. The reason you may ask, well I wanted to get some added protection on the bumper. My carriers are tearing up my paint and is getting old touching them up every two months. The rails would be for preventing mud and rocks from kicking up on my doors. This is what I'm looking at, the tan templates would be diamond plate. What do you all think.

Depening on your thoughts and comments I might open a poll on what color to go with. Anyway that's it for now. I will post a pic of the gauge pod when it gets dark. Until then happy trails :JEEPIN:

No thank god. We were sleeping when the storm came through. What saved my rig was the fact it was parked under a tree. Cars down the street faired a lot worse than me because of that. If I was driving I'm sure my windshield would have been obliterated.

Just a little bit of exploring down some range roads.

Perfect opportunity to Line-X the whole exterior since you wouldn't have to worry about hail or mostly anything else damaging the exterior panels. :SOMBRERO:  :pepper: :JEEPIN:
