Greetings from sunny Australia again! Last weekend, I went out with 20 other Jeeps to one of our 4WD parks for an awesome overnight wheeling and camping experience. The other vehicles were primarily JK Wranglers, a few well setup WH Grands and a brand new WK2 Grand Overland with Air Suspension. I was the sole KK Cherokee (Liberty) and there wasn't even another KJ so had a bit to do to make the badge proud and earn some respect. Even on my tiny 29" tyres the KK kept up with the lot of them and did everything bar some of the extreme tracks that only the dual locked boys with bigger lifts did Lining up at the entrance to the park. ![]() Heading off into the mountains to get stuck into our first track. ![]() One of the many water crossings tackled.... got very close to my cars limit. Really need a snorkel. ![]() Tackling one of the hills. This is the hill in the second video below. ![]() That's right Mr. JK Wrangler... I'm still following you! ![]() And a few videos now... Heading up "Telecom Hill". Looks daunting from the ground but in these dry conditions it isn't too difficult, just need to pick the right line. http://youtu.be/jRFV3FSrAp8 Going down another track, "Club Rally Circuit". http://youtu.be/vFk6MF2tygM Cheers, hope you enjoy. |

So a couple of obvious upgrades since my last post and a different 4x4 park this time but thought I'd share. I went out with my local Jeep Club last weekend to a 4x4 park just south of Brisbane, Australia First time I've been to that 4x4 park and I thought it was great. 16 Jeeps came out on this trip! Such an awesome sight! ![]() Straight into it! The first obstacle of the day was a little challenging but did well to get through it relatively easy... Note to self... need to buy some skid plates ![]() Good video of that section. http://youtu.be/xLsYmm-kvKI Looooooooooooove this colour coded Uneek4x4 bar! ![]() Playing around in the pig-pen area. ![]() ![]() After watching an open-diffed XJ take about 9 attempts on this section I was nervous but again a good line and the KKs brilliant traction control made short work of it..... thank god for sliders though otherwise my passenger door would be a different shape http://youtu.be/6vYQHMoC-zE It was another great trip with my local Jeep club and I'm looking forwards to the next one and flying my KK flag proudly. It always amazes me how many people have just dismissed the KK and think it's weak! After every trip I've done I get people approach me blown away by how capable they are.... and it aint my skill that's for sure... it's just a top vehicle! |

Figured I'd just update this thread. I went out on my local Jeep Forum organised run last sunday to the GlassHouse Mountains national park. Turned out to be an an epic trip with 12 cars coming, primarily Jeeps of course but we also had a Defender 90, Daihatsu Feroza and a Triton along for the ride and all having a ball! I've re-posted most of the photos people took of the trip here if you're interested: https://www.facebook.com/michael.dobele.3/media_set?set=a.631800646851042.1073741829.100000633385704&type=1 Here's the shots of me... First climb of the day, didn't quite make it over the top but gave me an excuse to test out the winch and do a quick self-recovery. ![]() ![]() Doing the usual KK "cocked-leg" pose. ![]() Sporting my new Jeep Club sticker proudly. ![]() ![]() THIS is why you buy rock-sliders. ![]() Just have to believe me here but managed to get the KK all the way up this hill un-assisted. Hopefully my mate has a video of it. This is a shot from winching the Triton. ![]() It was a great trip. I did end up copping a pretty nasty hit to the factory fuel-tank cover right on the end of the day which caused it to rub very badly on the rear driveshaft. We tried to fix it on the track but with the sun well and truly down and us not having much sucess we called it a day and just limped the KK back to the closest Service Station. It made a hell of a racket with us limping on the highway shoulder with hazards flashing and that of course attracted the boys in blue who wondered what the hell we were doing...but they let us on our merry way with noting more then a "Be carefull guys" Called JeepAssist who put her on a flat-bed home and towed it to a Jeep Dealer. They just pulled the tank-guard off and beat it back into shape. Total cost was just a couple hours labor so pretty thankfull that was the extent of the damage. It was a great trip, but I'm grounding the KK from anymore until I sort out my underbody protection better! |

Really nice pictures and vids . The place looks fantastic! I am really impressed by the traction control, clearly some more clearance from bigger wheels would help. Thanks for sharing !! |

Beautiful KK Mikzor! Love the bumper and the wheels.. Did you need an adapter for those wheels? AEV only shows the 5 on 5 bolt pattern for sale (JK/WK/XK) |

Thanks Cherox. My rims are the old discontinued 16" AEV Bridgers that I had powder-coated black. Same bolt pattern so no adapters needed. I was very lucky and managed to find 4 new ones for sale about 2 years ago. They're a great looking rim... wish AEV still sold them! |

Prob the best KK vid I've seen. It looks sharp with those rims and I dig the eliminated sideskirts with those rock sliders which looked like you put to use in the vid. |

Thanks Gageraid. Those rock sliders have saved my panels on numerous occasions. Best money I ever spent. |

Great vid! You should be really proud of your KK - you've modded it with practical AND good-looking components that make it a very nice off-road Jeep. The Cherokee/Liberty is a very capable Jeep - and you're proving it! Well done mate! Bob |

This has probably been answered before, but does your hood have a sticker, or did you do it with something else? |
