I don't think that so easy. Even with the snorkel you need to isolate much modules, sensors and other stuff to drive free there. And don't forget about breathers in reductors and transmission. As you can see on the photo - water level is higher than battery (and the car is not stays on the wheels - its flow).

Now there's the potential for a unique mod for a Liberty - an outboard motor.

It is funny but we strongly thought about it cause our friends once crossed pretty big river with inflatable pontoons used for a inflatable catamaran - http://youtu.be/MZ0crrhwtBM

But we had not enough time before our trip to order pantoons like this

We have always pushed into extreme couse we have no roads here in russia only directions. So we just always expect that the road can disappear at any moment. It is funny thing: we have traveled much in western and northen europe, in australia and everywhere you can set your navigation with the option "avoid highways" and can to have pleasure with the great views of countryside. In russia you cannot use this option because there is only one road from A to B and you have no other ways. Surely if there is a road

A lot of cool things are accomplished by people who just had no other choice. Sometimes the easy way out deprives us of a chance to prove ourselves.

Nice to see you guys are meeting the challenge! :D

Great words.

As a addition i can tell that our KJ is quite close to stock and cannot challenge with real dirtmixers like land cruiser or G-klasse. But because you have what you have you need to drive very smart and carefully. You have to pass through despite of any weakness of your car. So the result is you goes by places where others have to use winch. Just because you are more attentive than others. It is funny to rescue big dirt prepaired vehicles with 35-inch wheels just because their owners thinked very much about its possibility. The old russian saying is: "if you have bigger car than others you should go further to find a tractor to recover it"

Sorry my french, it is longest post than i made here (:
