UPDATE:
not to be misunderstood, I find this new Jeep quite amazing:
It is the first new-born since the presence of the Italian in the management. Jeeps' body and engine size are an increasing source of problems in Europe with the raising number of histerico-ignorant green guys. So the size of the Renegade and the choice of engines it will come with is pretty cool for us.

Of course I don't think that even the Trailhawk, Trail-Rated version, will have strong enough skid and high enough ground clearance to follow a well prepared KJ (like mine 8) ).... But I trust it will be able to bring us though all European bad roads, snowy passes and dirt trails. I just hope that this version will not be limited to the US...

I remember (actually the wife did reminded me this) that during the now discontinued EuroJeep Camp, 2088 edition in Germany, a Team from Jeep US had presented a concept car called the Renegade. the idea was to have a small gasser engine used to produce electricity to power 4 electric motors that were located at each wheel.... really amazing, we were excited. Can you imagine the torque, the power and the motricity of electric motors on each wheel ??!!!
Here is a link: http://www.jeep.com/en/autoshow/concept_vehicles/renegade/

Then, Fiat bought the brand and we never heard of the project , (and the EuroJeep Camp was dead...= the only communication program of customer fidelity in Europe...)

Back to the new Renegade. The interior looks very nice, kind of latest Wrangler but more fun. And it seem that all models will be equipped of a retractable sun-roof. :P

Looking forward to test drive it !!!

That's a cute little mall crawler. Fiat in Jeep clothing.

I think it looks like a Kia Soul or Nissan Cube.

Just like the new KL, I’m really interested to see the capability and overall reliability of it. Can’t say I like the look, but I am one of the few people that like to see a new variety of vehicles. It’s interesting to see progression, plus it pays for Jeep to keep on building!

I would use this as the "family" vehicle for trips, errands, school, etc. I like it but it certainly isn't no trail vehicle.

I like it better than the KL and the compass. I'm holding my judgement. It may surprise us with what it can do. Remember how the "real" Jeeps talked about the KJ and the KJs talked about the KK when they first came out. We are slowly silencing the critics as we go out and wheel. Hopefully the KL and Renegade will do the same. I'm thinking it'll be like a little Samurai.
