My overhead has said "Perform Service" each time I start the Jeep since I bought it used about 3 weeks ago. I took it back to the dealer once so they could fix a leaky tire. They were suppose to "reset" the perform service on the overhead.

I don't know for sure if they did reset it or not, but it's always said "Perform Service".

I'm guessing this is not the same as an Error code, and it's just warning me to do the service over a certain amount of miles?

thanx

I am not looking at my KJ right but...I think it's the 2nd button from the right. You push it and it takes you through a menu. One says something like 'service interval' or somthing like that. Basically you can change when your EVIC tells you you need to take it in for an oil change. Mine is set to go off every 3k for this and the 'Perform Service' comes up. You just need to reset within the menu. I think your manual walks you through this but again I am not near my KJ right now and am only doing this from memory. :(

Perform Service just means you've hit 3000 miles and its time to change the oil! you can change that interval through the options on the overhead by pressing 'menu', to find the right option, then 'step' to switch the setting. (I think thats how it goes anyway) You can reset the counter to 0 on that simply by holding 'reset' while the PERFORM SERVICE screen is up.

Hope that helps! :D
