I was looking around the forum a coule days ago and found the info that I needed, desided against a Liberty and have changes my mind and now can't find the info again! What year did they go to 4 wheel disks and ESP? Is there any certain number in the VIN that indicates the Liberty in question has the "Off Road package" option?

ALso, what's a Frankenlift? I can assume from the name generaly what it is but how are the arts gathered, and from where and how is it executed as an instalation/ WHat are the benifits/ drawbacks to doing this over an after market kit?

Thanks guys,

ken

4 wheel discs appeared in 03 and I think that ESP is only on 07's (?)
Don't know about a VIN identifier for the off road package but it included front/engine/suspension skid, transfer case and gas tank skid and heavy duty cooling.

The Frankenlift is a lift from All J Products (www.boulderbars.com) and is comprised of (Old Man Emu) OME springs, OME struts/shocks, custom poly spacers and Daystar upper strut plates and poly bumpstops. All J is the Source for the assembled "Frankenlift" set up. They can set you up w/ the best for your KJ.

My 06 has the stupid ESP too. I hate it. I'm not sure if it was standard on the 06's, I have a limited.

Why do you hate it? I thought that it was working out well on the new Wranglers, even off road.

It does its job even off-road. Scene from last years off-road adventure. 2006 CRD coming out of a mud pit and stopped just in time. This was the complete stop as he was coming out of a mud pit and angled toward me.

I hate it because to me it makes the vehicle unpredictable.

I know there are a lot of situations where it does good. I just wish there was a button that turned it totally off.

There might be a button on top of steering column.

Yes. That only turns some if it off. There are still plenty of computer nannies to make you be have.

I second the hate of the esp. You drive thinking the vehicle is going to do one thing and it does the other. I have to relearn how to drive. You have to put faith in the esp to do all the work but i cant let the driving part go.

someone suggested pulling the fuse to disable the esp. anyone ever tried this? I also cannot tolerate the esp. it is nearly impossible to slide and maintain forward momentum. eventually the esp will bring you to a slow crawl.

I really like the liberty and I am excited to tear into it, but this thing will be sold if I can't get rid of esp completely.
