Look on the drivers door jam(by the door latch),there is a white tag.It has the VIN# on it and will have the date as month/year(mine is 02/02,stands for Feb of '02).or you can get a build sheet from the dealer.

Ahh, ok. I'm actually in the market to buy one and was hoping there was a way to obtain it online.
Does carfax provide this info?

Not sure,never used carfax.

The change from pre-lowered to lowered was April 12th 2002.

March of 2001 was the production start for the model year 2002 KJ's.I worked at a dealership and our first KJ arrived at the end of march,a special order one.
