upload your image to a hosting site, like www.imageshack.us
once uploaded copy the IMAGE URL itself and paste it to your signature section, and surround it with IMG tags:

I'm sure this is covered somewhere and I did look but only found stuff about how to add pictures to your posts. I just want to add a picture of my jeep to my signiture. Any help? |

Now post away! Well, for an avatar yes. The image in my sig line is definitely bigger than that, it just depends on what you want to do with it. Just don't go overboard
