Ok, so any Libertys here have it happen? Chime in. You sure don't hear about it like diffs blowing up. BTW I'm not saying it can't happen or that it's a good practice, see my original post.

?
The transfer case is the same -

The laws of physics and the strength of steel are the same

whether it's in a Grand or a Liberty.

Better to be in 4low,less wheel spin and easier on the trans.

Used it when driving high speeds in the rain on the autobahn, worked great, almost like AWD. Almost.

Full-Time and Part-Time make perfect sense.

You can keep the transfer case in Full-Time all the time. Hence, Full-Time.

You only want to put the transfer case in Part-Time part of the time. Like when you are in snow, mud, ice, losse gravel, etc...

Sounds like they got it correct to me.

Jeep's naming convention is to tell you how to drive it - not what it's doing.

different point of view.

Seriously? I guess when you're running that fast, the relative difference caused by the geometry of turning the wheel or compressing the suspension is a much lower percentage of the total rotational speed. Still, I'm a little surprised it didn't grenade on you...
