I have a pic on photobucket that I'm trying to use as an avatar, with no luck. Do you need a certain number of posts before you can use the avatar???? Under my profile I've tried typing in every conceivable address I could. I've read the other posts regarding this, and have tried everything mentioned, but still no luck. Not the most computer literate person in the world, but it can't be hard!!!! Help, please :?

Nope, you don't need a certain number of posts. Go back to photobucket. Find the picture you want to use, click on edit, click on resize, you can enter 150x150 for the size or go to the preset sizes and choose small. (it's a little bit too big but should be ok) When you're done copy the Image code for the picture. Now go to your profile and paste that in the spot for the off site avatar. It should work for you. Good luck! (been a while but I think that was it)

The only thing you need to do is remove the "" parts at the start and end of the address - I tried changing mine the way Nanette mentioned just to verify this was the case. Like she said for some of us it's been a while since we've changed it (some more than others  )

when you got to photobucket.com, under your picture it will list a link for the picture in 4 formats: email, direct link, html, and img code. copy the img code link and paste it in the Link to off-site Avatar section under your profile page and your done

One thing I notice is this section: /My%20KJ/
The '%20' normally shows up when you have a space in a file name and I have found that some sites don't like URLs with that in them. You might try renaming it and put an underscore _ in where the space is like this: /MY_KJ/ and that might work. And when you are done click on the 'direct link' box to copy that info, then paste it into the box for the avatar address. If you have the '[img]' code in the address php won't understand it. Need anymore help just send me a PM.
