Does anybody have a point of view as to the strength of the KJ unibody in regards to offroading with no doors??? I cant find any website that confirms whether or not the doors are essential to the strength of the body. WJ and ZJ owners at NAGCA.com have come to the conclusion Grands have stiffer bodies than XJ's and the doors are not needed to prevent the body from twisting itself apart offroad. Any ideas for the KJ???

Personally I think the KJ is rigid as heck and the doors are going to do very little to help twisting anyway. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Just my :2cents:

structurally the KJ is like 100 times stronger or something like that than the XJ so I would see no problem in doing it

X2 Tom. When the KJ came out Chrysler said it had the strongest body of all the Jeeps. Somebody here took their doors off for a little bit.

You caan quickly check and see how rigid a rig is... open the doors, park the vehicle with the suspension flxed, then try to close the doors. On the KJ's they will open and close just fine. A lot of other rigs don't fare so well.

its a heck of a lot better than my super cheyenne was if that means anything, if i got out to winch someone while off camber very much, the door would slam the striker when i got back in

Ive heard that the KJ is the strongest unibody vehicle Yeep has ever made. Ultimately they arent up to a framed vehicle, but they arent bad either.
