[Replying to an old post...] Just bought a 2005 Liberty Limited that has the same problem: Brake light on, ABS light on, Odometer frozen.
I have seen that the driver's side brake sensor cable is routed along the steering column under the hood. I'll inspect this tomorrow in daylight. I have already disconnected both front brake sensor connectors and the light remains on.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Any more suggestions since this 2012 post?
I'm a new owner and have not gotten a maintenance book yet. Is there one that is better for the CRD Liberty models?
Dean.
As a new owner of a Jeep CRD be sure and read and study the
NOOB GUIDE if you have not already done so. It contains a wealth of information!

VERY IMPORTANT! This is an interference engine and if it breaks or jumps a few teeth, really bad things happen!
They are only good for ~100k miles or around 8 years in age with most replacing before before reaching the limits.
The manuals for your vehicle can be viewed or downloaded from this site:>
