If I catch him in the act, he won't have a pot to "pee" in after I'm done.
:ROTFL:

Anyone else heard of people drilling into gas tanks to steal gas?

Boiler Gas tank skid will take quite a bit to drill through that and with mine being diesel they will be in for a surprise. They have been doing that in the walmart parking lots for years around these parts. Ussually choosing larger SUVs and trucks they would go into walmart buy the drill bits and a few gas tanks. And that is good to hear are we considering keeping the KJ now :juggle:

Yeah I need to get a thick gas tank skid if they're starting to do that crap here. Drilling holes in tanks.

Yes, KJ is staying...for now.

Makes me glad I've got a skid on my gas tank, at least it will slow them down a bit. Who knows maybe they'll see it and move on to another car. Glad to hear you figured out your problem with the KJ though.

Thanks Brian.

And I got to thinking, whoever has been stealing my gas; the locking gas cap may make them mad and decide to go for the gas tank
I need a gas tank skid ASAP. Atleast to slow them down.

Well Nick...

Having the gas gause show almost half a tank and then your trip meter say you drove less than 70 miles from fill-up...kinda self-explanatory.

Normal for you but NOT for me! :ROTFL: :-)r

I think I'd croak over dead if I had to drive your KJ as a D.D. but just the X-Factor (the AWSOMENESS) your SFA KJ has just would override the pain I'd be feeling from my empty wallet.

There's no more problems with my KJ and mpgs.

I'm use to the poor mpgs and love to tell people my Jeep gets 15 mpg.
The looks on their faces are priceless!!!! :ROTFL:

Regearing to 4.10s should help my rpms and slightly increase my mpgs.

4.10s will help by 1mpg at most with mtrs...so for $2000+ that your spending regearing, that $2000 can go towards the gas that you could use to drive with. just saying, its going to take a long time for that extra mpg or 2 to catch up to that $2000 that you are going to spend. just throwing it out there.

you have km2s and soon to be trxus mtrs...those are mud tires. and where i live, yes, i drive about 100 miles a week to and from work, but then their is school involved. driving to and from the city 3 times a week. so i average about 400-500 miles a week. just throwing out my :2cents: on the 4.10s because i am trying to save you money rather than have it be this huge expense. i mean, you were jsut talking about how you were going to get rid of it cause you couldnt afford it :/

it's called an upgrade. i couldn't do it right away. maybe a few years down the road when i have the money for the gears and the steel front housing from jba. i graduate in may with my cj degree and my jeep will paid off within a few years. i plan to move to Pegion Forge, TN for work (atleast try to) after i graduate. get my Jeep paid off, start upgrading it and make it my trail/daily driver rig.
i can drive a 100 miles a day easily, just saying.

Come on now Stingn, Now thats funny right there
You will get more than 1 mpg after regearing trust someone who has done it , plus know of others running similar size to 245-75s and they got more after regearing . Plus 2000 bucks to regear? Dang glad I don't live anywhere near Chi-town.
PLUS the fact that the engine will be running cooler, and more in the range where it was meant to run instead of lugging it all of the time. So the money invested is well worth it trust me.

My lib is pretty stock, Yokohama YK580 street tires even rather than offroaders and I get 14MPG regardless of wether I'm driving in the city of highway. I also use an Amsoil air filter, oil filter and full synthetic. I like how these are advertisted to get up to something like 21-22MPG. Maybe if you were driving with a tail wind and being pulled by a huge parachute going downhill!
