Hello everyone..OK crd is still completely apart, have rod bearings and gaskets ordered from IDParts. I have the factory manual for the crd. Great manual except there must be some kinda translation issues in the 2.8 diesel part of the book. Anyway.. It says when installing the balance shaft make sure the back of the weights are up when inserting the drift to time it (with engine at TDC). MY question is..whats up? AS engine is in the jeep? or as engine is upside down on the bench? It would have been a whole lot better to say weights toward crankshaft or away from crankshaft. Can somebody tell me what is correct? Away from or toward crankshaft. thanks Jimstrax

i dont remember exactly wich way it was when i did it, i want to say the drift pin fit better one way than the other.

Also you would get more results if you post in Liberty CRD...Love that Torque!!!
