I'll be coming up. I think this time the wife will actually tag along.
I'll make a few calls around to Mark, Randy, etc and may be see if Eric(toyota) wants to join us.

FYI - I picked up a 91 YJ to add to the Jeep collection. But I will be wheeling the Libby this weekend coming.

I'll call later in the week to finalize plans.

that sounds great. Sarah will be coming with as well. I hopped on the MN-jeep page and it looks like the hotels are filling up. so if you guys are planning on getting a room, you might want to book one right-away

I'll check to see if the other half wants to go up. Hey vinay, how much you pay for the yj? Been looking for one myself, especially after seeing your front diff blow. I found a cj7 renegade for 3500 already lifted. Would probably go up saturday and spend the night.

Hey gang, well two of us made it up to Gilbert this Saturday past. Turned out to be a great day. Good weather, some adventures, and fairly few others on the trails (although enough other people so that there was always help around).

Hey Randy, sorry we missed you on saturday, thought you were coming up.

SKOGSEMT, dude I don't know about this job thing. Interfering with your jeeping life, LOL. Hopefully we'll se you up again in a few weeks. Shade and I are planning another May run (1st or 2nd weekend).

SHADE, thought you'd have some pics up here by now. I'm waiting for the shot of you in your boxers trying to hook up the strap to your mud-submerged front end. LOL. Come on Sarah, ... don't let him omit that one.

Offroading was most excelent. I'll nararate between pictures...

It was Paul (pejero), Vinay (Black KJ), and myself and Sarah (grey/blue KJ).
Image

Image

Paul quickly found the nearest mud hole and found out that it was a little deep. (backed out succesfully)
Image

Then I decided to try out a near-by mud hole which looked easier. due to a bad aproach and terrible soft mud, I promptly stuck myself.
Image

Thats when it all started... I strapped her up on the rear hitch and Vinay tried pulling. He was successfull at moving me, but it just dragged me into the deepest part of the mud-hole where I sank to the point of getting allot of water in the passenger-side floor...
Image

Image

Image

Image

We decided that it plainly was not going to work pulling that way so I had to attatch the hook to my front tow-hook which required the removal of clothing as not to have my pants mud-soaked for the rest of the day...
Image

Image

I even had an audience too. there were around 20 people watching
Image

Then in came the cavalry. Bill from MN Jeep.
Image

And POP. out I came (with allot of tugging).
Image

It was the consistancy of drywall mud. and it was everywhere.
Image

Image

After a hose-down and lunch, Paul's Pejero was leaking to the point that he needed to go home. So It was just Vinay and I...
Image

Image

Image

Image

On the Edge was the name of that trail. Vinay wasn't paying enough attention to his back tire and it almost pulled him over the edge. check it out. His tire hit the rock which quite possibly saved him from a bit of a predicament.
Image

But thats all the good ones I got until paul posts his... :D

I ripped out the carpeting yesterday and I will be rino-lining it tomarrow.

It really didn't do any damage except soak the carpeting. I simple mopped up the water and mud and cleaned 'er up good and herculined it.

My wife and I noticed a few months ago a musty smell when we used the floor vents were used. Taking the carpetting out fixed it... so I think the carpetting was going to be coming out eventually anyways.

I can personally vouch for the quality of the door seals on KJ's. I once got mine to swim in headlight deep water. Yes mud got in, but it was my fault for not rolling up the windows...

Excellent work guys! Love the pics.

I will be back in a four wheel drive by december...For now I am on my way to Alaska to get the $ to buy a new 4x4. Can we start planning for a winter trail ride?

I will be home by november-december...
