Was looking at one as well, $56,000.00 cdn!! It was loaded but still not worth that by no means. I was going to test drive until i saw the price. I think a JK is my next one. Sorry not much of a help.

there are a few on ebay that are running $36k - $37k USD.

the diesel is very appealing in that vehicle to me for some reason.
even more so that in the liberty.

i may go back and test drive one, just to see how it is.

I just bought one....so far I like it.

MPG @ 50/50 has been 21.5 (better than my libby CRD got)

It has quite a bit of power and so far I'm impressed.

Mind if I ask how much you paid?

I just bought a leftover 2008 (new) Grand Cherokee CRD Laredo 2wd for $22,900.

Best deal in the world if you ask me. It's a LOT of vehicle for that money.

Also, the only Laredo available with a Diesel in America was in 2008.... 2007 only had a diesel option on the limited and overland models. I like them although I have heard of some issues with them... They still seemed to be priced pretty high for the used one, I know of some people who got them new for less than the used prices...

By this point I'm sure you've had PLENTY to read up on.. but my :2cents:

Just bought a 2008 WK Overland CRD.. paid $16,000!!! :BINGO: :BINGO: :BINGO: base (plus all the good fees).. had 2 glow plug ports stripped due to an idiot.. I just heli-coiled them ($52).. dealer is not authorized to so they were going to have to replace heads ($THOUSANDS)
it's VERY hard to find a CRD anywhere in the US.. ..they are like CRACK!

I'm in LOVE!! averaged 16mpg over a 600 mile trip TOWING another vehicle doing 75-80mph.. averaging 18-22 in the city... and an impressive 26! on the highway cruising at 75!..

and EVEN while towing, it can accelerate QUICK!.. this thing has POWER/TORQUE like a champ!

There are a few things to keep an eye on..
1st and foremost (IMO) is your turbo inlet seal.. the Orange one is BAD NEWS!.. will cost about $80 to get the new black one (have to buy entire hose).. this will keep it from leaking/disintegrating and destroying your turbo AND the swirl motor..

2nd is the option of mod'ing in an EHM (elephant hose mod) or a catch can... the EPA likes killing our cars... the soot build up without one of these will eventually warrant the replacement of your intercooler, ERG valve, and numerous other EXPENSIVE parts.. otherwise.. you just have to CLEAN these parts often.

3rd.. I've seen a few posts about this.. (at 82K miles I haven't had an issue and haven't done anything).. make sure to keep your sunroof drains CLEAR.. otherwise you'll get water leaking into your cabin and staining your pretty headliner.. no bueno...

aside from that.. keep up with scheduled maint (fluids/belts).. and all should be perfect!

there are a few posts here and around the web about removing certain systems from the vehicle to improve vehicle performance/life.. ERG, DPF, etc.. I plan on getting around to a few of them...

Ultimately.. I say this vehicle is GOLD!

I'm interested, as a KJ CRD owner about the 2014 GC CRD too but it seems that most people on any topic here wish to talk about the older models or their KJ CRD.

As a change are there any 2014 GC CRD owners out there besides Mr Winkey, or does Mr Winky have an update?

If you notice the post date of Mr Winky's... his IS a 2008 as well.. this is an OLD thread that I chimed in on to update users on the vehicle after a prolonged use with it.
