Hello members, Does anyone know the average wear time on the timing chain for jeep's 4.0 engine. roundabout millage for changing ?? Please do let me know your feedback...............!! Thanks.......!! Alan.... |

On AMC 232 and 258 CI motors which is the same basic motor as the 4.0. they would go untill the chain started hitting the cover. I've seen 4.0s go 200,000 miles on the original chain and gear. |

I have a 4.0 with over 265,000 on it and never had anything done to it, still runs good, a lot depends on how a motor has been ran and taken care of. |
