I've been building my Grand Cherokee for a while, and so far it's been pretty much the norm. I started out with a lift kit, and 33's. I quickly became very irritated with short arms, and set out to rectify the situation. After breaking my dana 35 again, I decided to bite the bullet, and just do it. I cut off all the stock suspension in the rear, and built my own. She currently sits at 8", and the rear is a triangulated 3 link with 14" travel fox air shox.

After building that, my brother and I went on a little wheeling trip to China mens. We didn't even make it to the trail! :furious: We got to Hartsel, and that was it. The idler pulley broke off the block, took out both hoses, and the rad. Needless to say she over heated, and cooked the bearings. So, it was ether replace the V8, or do something a little crazy! I decided that sense I was gonna have everything apart I might as well do it right. I bought an 88 Ford step van, and drove home my new engine!

Yes, that's rite! A Cummins 4BT! It will be backed up by a TH400, and an np 203/205 combo.

I got started a few days ago pulling every thing off, the drive train is out, the front bumper is off, rock sliders, etc. Im starting today on getting whats left out from under the hood, and making some card board patterns.

Im also building 2 custom axles for her, see my 9" build here!

Got the wiring harness out, and got all the junk under the hood off. Only thing left under the hood is the breaking system and steering box. I also got the engine up on the stand and started stripping off all the Ford junk.

After that I pulled the gas tank, and test fit my DIESEL tank! It's just barley to big, it fits side to side, but is about 3" to long front to back. I'll just cut some more out of the floor, and it should drop right in.

I know its been a LONG time sense Iv posted in here, but I haven't done anything to the Jeep so... Today I finally decided I had enough, and candy was coming in no matter what else was going on. Iv waited to long for this, and its high time she gets finished once and for all. A lot of work will be getting done in the next couple months, and I'm gonna try and keep posting new updates as things get done. So far she's all cleaned up, in the garage, and the dirty 30 is gone! Soon I will start cutting all the factory junk off, and plating the frame.

For some reason I can't post pix :banghead: I'm only using my phone, so maybe someone can fix that for me? I can't do Photobucket from the phone :banghead:

I got the out sides of the frame done today. Everything is welded on, and the frame is perfectly square in every direction. I got started cutting for the main rail, and I should have at least one of them in place next weekend.
