My Dad just helped me install the ARB on the KJ and now he has his mind made up on getting a cherokee or grand cherokee. I kind of have an idea what we need to look for in the Cherokee but I don't have a clue what the good years/parts are to look for on a grand. I'm sure he would prefer the 90's models without all the newer electronics (Roll up windows and such) but any advice what we should be looking for when we look at them I'd appreciate it. Advice on the Cherokee is welcome too I'm anything but a master mechanic.

I just noticed this, and I'm sure by now you've already bought a new Jeep. If not, it all depends on what your doing with it. DD, mild wheeler, serious crawler, racing? Any ZJ, or WJ will be a good option, there all pretty nice. I would look for a limited, V8. The only real issue, do away with the all wheel drive ASAP. All that consists of is a T-case swap. Oh, and watch out for the 4.7L V8 in the WJ's, they have oiling issues, and the go bad real fast if not taken care of.

Check out my build thread if you wanna see a serious grand, candy has gone far beyond most grands, you won't find another one like her anywhere.
