I passed on the GC and ordered the KJ CRD. I just could not get comfortable in the seats. I would have loved one though.

With the power seats I can adjust them any way necessary, don't know why you had a problem getting it to fit?? So far I love it. I got 24 mpg coming back from Denver, loaded and 75-80 mph all the way. Better than I have ever got with the Liberty CRD.

I did not like the "car" seating position, I liked the "truck" position the KJ offered.

Like sitting in a compact truck and a full size truck. Same with the new GC a little better but still not to my liking. Funny thing is that the Mercedes ML has a different seating arrangement that I like.

Are you saying you would rather sit in a compact truck than a full size truck? Me ~ I'd rather sit in my Grand Cherokee! Not trying to be a butt head, after all if we all liked the same thing what a dull world we would live in.  :pepper: :JEEPIN:

I just got an 08 Overland with the CRD. I love it. I got the GDE Eco tune and it really woke the motor up. So far I'm really loving the thing. I believe it was a "tow-behind" - like behind a big winnebago or prevost as the entire suspension is shot to heck and its only got 75,000 miles. Its cool though because thats a great excuse for the OME lift.

Nice I have been looking at one as well. I like the xenon and the dark grown seats of the Overland.

Is there a good forum for the grand crd? We are looking at one now and I want to read up on reliability, mods, and issues. Not expecting LOST quality.

Post subject:  Re: Grand Cherokee CRD

Our other car is a 2009 WK 3.0 CRD. We bought that one as a brand new vehicle . if you can drive it at a constant speed on freeway, lets say at 60 mph, now wind, tarmac, its economy figures are approx 27 mpg. (rarely happens and it is 8.6 liters/100km) highway threaded normal tires (goodyear wranglers), average dirving style makes this 9.5 to 11.5 liters ( falken wildpeak AT tires.) it depends on how heavy your foot on pedal. Characteristics of high torque turbo diesel engines are way different than bigger volume gasoline engines. ( lets compare it with 4.7 v8)
