The wife's 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited HEMI 4x4 is now at 44,823 miles. It will have been in service 4 years December 29th, 2013. After the first or second tire rotation, I extrapolated, based on the new tread depth and tread depths at rotation #1 and rotation #2, that I'd be lucky to get 45k miles out of the OEM P245/60R18 Goodyear Fortera HL OWL rubbers.
I'm at 4/32nds on each of the tires....so it appears as if the OEM rubbers will end up exceeding my expectations. I'll need to replace them before the snow starts flying in December.....and that will be about another 6,000 or 7,000 miles.
I've been pleased with the performance of the tires. They have great dry traction, great wet traction, extremely even wear characteristics, a very quiet noise level, and I'm old*school and like the outline white letter tires!!!! The only time they ever required balancing was when I had all four wheels replaced under warranty for a clearcoat issue.
Pisser #1.....The Fortera HL's are no longer in production.
Pisser #2.....No other tire manufacturer (based on searches on tirerack.com) offer any P245/60R18 tires in outline white letters.
I'm a big Bridgestone fan (I had Dueler A/T REVO's on my 2002 Liberty Sport 4x4 and on the 2005 Liberty Limited CRD 4x4) so Bridgestone is a strong contender. The REVO's on the Liberty CRD became noisy, and I replaced them with Firestone Destination LE's. I'm not opposed to going with Firestone again. I also had Goodyear Wrangler SR/A's on the 2002 Liberty Sport.....and they were right up there with the Fortera HL's...
