The question is, can the speedometer on our 2006 WK 4.7L QT2 be adjusted to read closer to the actual speed?

The story goes like this.

Since day one, the speedometer has read low. I checked it with a stopwatch on a measured mile course at an indicated 60 MPH using stock 235/65R17 tires. It drove that mile at 63MPH. That was before I changed the tire size from stock to 245/70R17 last fall. Since having the new tires installed I had a speeding ticket that prompted me to have the speedometer calibration checked with radar. It's actual speed now is 65 MPH at an indicated 60 MPH. So, yes the tires are a contributing factor to the inaccuracy, but not the only one.

I took the vehicle to the local stealer today. They gave me a brush off and told me to reinstall stock size tires. They did not tell me if the speedometer could be set so it read closer to the actual speed being driven. BTW, that's Craft Jeep in Lynchburg, VA, a crappy bunch of jerks if ever there were some. Anyway, does anyone know if the speedometer on a 2006 WK can be adjusted? I really would like to know. :?

Thanks.

Hank
