Hi Everybody....

Have had my zj now a couple of months and have gone through the electrical battery drain problem..eventually tracked down to electric window short in drivers door loom ... Its amazing that the manufacturers book, my fuse card panel and all the schematics i found online were different... Turned out to be fuse 2(cigar - on ident panel) and Fuse 3( Rear Wash- on ident panel) were the culprits..... still cant find schematics that match up to what these fuses isolate when pulled....lol

Now i am looking for some advice on lift kits....

I use it for what i call mild off roading and towing... I do a lot of duck/geese shooting and it finds itself hitting the odd ditch, ploughed fields, the shoreline and some rough track roads.... I would not say it is extreme with massive boulders or obscure angle inclines or declines...

The other use is for towing my track car on its trailer ......

So i am looking for a decent lift kit which would cover both.... I have read that the max is 2" without doing any major mods to anything else...

Looking to buy from the US, so i am looking for suppliers who ship to the uk and recommended kits for what i need. I dont mind spending money on upgrading other bits while i am at it as long as its reasonable to the age of vehicle and its use.

Happy to stick with the 16" wheels already on.... planning some wheel spacers to give it a wider stance..

What is the max recommended spacing on the standard hubs???

Any info very much appreciated...

Hi,

If you need help with your ZJ you can get most of the parts in the UK without going to UK Jeep dealers.

Try the following contacts:
In the UK
JeepChryslerparts on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/jeepchryslerparts
Jeepey Mart : http://shop.jeepey.com/
Llama 4x4 : http://www.llama4x4.com/
Lighthouse Jeep Parts on 01953 681237

Personally I found that logging onto Amazon US helped also and it will tell you if the supplier will ship to the UK or not.
I found that Quadratec http://www.quadratec.com/ was very helpful where UK & European suppliers failed.

Also you might want to contact the following UK formus where ZJ are covered a bit more than here:
Jeep Owners Club http://www.jeepowners.club
Jeep-Club UK http://jeep-club.co.uk/
Jeepey http://club.jeepey.com/

Hope this helps you.

Fil.

Hi,

For a manual I guess Amazon UK might have something to keep you going with the basic and I guess a 96' would still cover yours if it's the same model. If your is diesel then most probably not as most manual are based around the petrol models.
Other way is to ask in a Grand Cherokee forum, but I am afraid I can't help you there, but you could have a look on Jeep Forum here is the link for the ZJ http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/ .
