 Post subject: shift cable disconnects at transmission

Location: New England
I have a 2003 Grand Cherokee 4.0 with auto transmission. The shifter cable came off at transmission. Purchased a new MOPAR cable; installed it; a few days later it came off again. What is going on here. Would appreciate any help.
