My driver's window wasn't working when I got the XJ. I took the door panel off and played with the plug/wiring and got it functioning - until it stopped again. So I repeated the process and got the window 1/2 up before it stopped again.

The blue wire is hot to the regulator with the switch up. I get nothing from the white wire. Is the unit grounded by the mounting points while blue wire = up and white wire = down?

Trying to figure out if my problem is now the regulator, switch or wiring. And to clarify, it's not the plastic piece or anything - the motor doesn't turn - so it's electrical (or bad motor).

Many thanks,

Some WD are available at:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/10078577/Jeep ... -diagrams-
or
https://www.autozone.com/repairguides/J ... 52800a9de9
or
Best one:
https://procarmanuals.com/pdf-online-je ... -diagrams/
This is a good one, open and then click on the download PDF button at the bottom of the page.
Then it will download the PDF file and you can save the entire wiring diagram section to your computer for use.

Not positive but after understanding the circuit and checking continuity I "think" its a poor connection at the switch & plug.
Thanks for the help,
