WOW...I wish some ppl would do that with there cars once they fail inspection over here...lol...some serious hurting could of happened to somebody if something had gone wrong...luckily they wore at least a helmet and maybe some other protective gear...

Failed inspection but still had that much life left in it?! The XJ drivetrain is known for being tough but that was a great demonstration of how much abuse it can actually take. Makes me feel better about the light wheeling I put mine through.

Having cut my Jeep teeth on an '02 Liberty but finding it too small for my growing family, I ended up selling my Renny and buying a used WJ. That transition lasted a mere 18 months, only to find out my Grand Cherokee was just too "mallish" for me.

I now have a '99 project XJ (old Blue) that I am extremely fond of, nearly to the level of my beloved Liberty Renegade (and the fond memories of the early days of NorCal LOST KJ).

It has not taken long to fall in love with old Blue. This XJ not only feels like a real Jeep, but I have already started the long list of off road upgrades and I eagerly anticipate the trails once experienced with my Libby. To me, the Cherokee is just the right size and the plethora of affordable upgrades will help my son and I develop a lifetime of memories.

Now to my point. I was at first appalled at at the utter destruction of the XJ in the video. However, after some reflection, I have learned to appreciate the video for the simple demonstration of the utter ruggedness of the XJ and the entire Jeep line. I now know that there is little I can do on the trail to destroy old Blue and I will pass every Chevy, Ford, Dodge, or foreign pseudo off-road vehicle with pride.

Long live Jeep. Long live Jeeple.

Hey badgerdude. My son and I built an XJ together and it was a blast.

Welcome back into the org. Don't forget to visit lostkjnorcal.com to see what's new up north here. Hope to see you on some runs and finally meet one of the NorCal founders.

That is absolutly nuts it is to bad they killed that thing. I would of taken it to have as a project vehicle as long as the frame wasn't cracked. Oh well I can't believe that thing can go through that much abuse that is nuts. I know there is no way a kj would take much of that especailly the air time. Pretty funny though.

Amazing! Does anyone know if you can get that much air in a KJ? I've only had my KJ for a few weeks now and I'm amazed out how much heavier it is than the XJ. There was a trail I used to drive next to some train tracks that had a preffect little up hill followed by a long smooth down hill landing. In the XJ I would hit it at 45mph, no more no less and it was a good 2-3 seconds of silent time. I haven't been back to that area yet but I have a feeling the KJ is to heavy to get the air and I'm too worried that if it did get air I'd come down to hard anyway.

Either way, that was an amazing vid. I'd love to do that to someone elses car!

I'm not a huge XJ Fan, but that thing was pretty clean. Why in the hell did they do that again?
