Wheel cylinder

OK. I got all the shoes and springs off. But I can't get the brake line to come loose from the cylinder. It just willn't budge and i'm slowly rounding the nut thingy. Any ideas before i grab it with the vise grips and go to town?

soak in pb blaster and wait while you consume a 6 pack. if still won't budge, try a little heat and repeat.

jeep is back and the ground and rolling. And even stopping too.

I never got it off. I soaked it, hit it, tried talking dirty to it, but nothing. no love. ..... what were we talking about again......

BUt that side wasn't leaking so I cleaned it all up and put on new shoes, springs and it runs great. The leaking side I was able to remove and replace that cylinder. cleaned it all up, new shoes and springs. Bleed the brakes and off we went. peddle is still soft, but it stops.

After Roy gets done with all of Annette's little problems  I'll run it up there and have him give it the once over and loosen my stuck stuff and then I'll replace the other cylinder.

tomorrow I go to the DMV.... :) :) :) :) :)

I had same problem - ended up breaking both break lines (right & Left) I don't think the system had ever been bled. Had to replace both wheel cylinders bleeders broke off. New break line and compression fittings now everything works great.
