Thanks. Even though it's my ranch vehicle, I still use it as a daily commuter and occasional grocery getter. I want it to look good and be functional.

I have an appointment to have some Duratracs installed on my KJ on Saturday morning. My BFG TA/KO tires still have life in them and drive better now that they're worn in. But I want to try the Duratracs. Won't look as cool as yours.

Our KJ will be getting DuraTracs once the Firestone Destination A/Ts are ready to be swapped out. I still have a lot of tread on the Firestones, though! As a matter of fact, I'm about to turn 50,000 miles on the KJ.

Only 50,000 on the KJ
Wow wish I could find a low mileage like that to start a new build on.
Heck my Duratracs have 34,000 more miles on them than your KJ does :ROTFL:

Should of installed two of those on one side of the KJ, just to see how they would look and also sit in the fenders/flares

The Jeep is far from great, but it's been a useful piece of equipment. It really needs new paint, but I'm going to hold off for a few more years.

Living at 7,000 feet poses a few challenges with cold weather being one of them. We’ve seen temperatures as low as -29. For this reason, we have OE block heaters on all of our vehicles for easier startups and quicker warm-ups. Initially, we had to lift the hood on the Cherokee whenever we wanted to plug in the block heater. Two years ago, I decided to reroute the cord to the front of the grille. The new location made the plug accessible for easier operation; however, the cord dangled from the front grille which further exposed the cord to the elements. So, I decided to find a better solution. I’m going to use a Marinco 150BBI Charger Inlet.

I still have my KK but rarely post anymore, definitely don't check this forum as much as I used too. One thing I always came back to was to read your XJ build thread. I sold mine a few years ago and ended up getting a 70 C10. I still have the C10 (super slow work in progress) but always wanted my XJ back. Well I've literally been browsing craigslist for 3-4 days now looking for the right XJ and my old XJ pops up today! Thats a sign from God if I have ever seen one. Im going to pick it up tomorrow and I will do an update to my thread shortly after.

Thank you for keeping tabs on your build and keeping me interested. Your Jeep looks great!

Now I have 2 vehicle projects and a house. :dizzy:

This is absolutely true!

I have kept tabs on your XJ thread as well as your "off the grid" thread since before you even bought the land. Both are informative and entertaining!

I used to have a burgundy '00 XJ that was totaled by a hit and run driver. It was my first Jeep, so I definitely have a soft spot for those trucks.

A little nostalgia:

Ha! I like to document my hobbies. It's a good way for me to process, organize, and reflect on what I'm doing, how I got here, and where I'm going. Thanks for watching! :D

That's too bad it was totaled.

Need some more updates, like how are the wheels working out so far
Keep going back and forth on possibly using them on the Green 03

Tom, the wheels are working out great. I get a lot of compliments on them. I even washed the Jeep and gave it a thorough cleaning a few weeks ago.

Now that the snow has melted and warmer weather has arrived, I will be back out on the ranch working the Jeep again. It's time to get the Cherokee in good working order. Here are some things that I have done in the last few weeks:

1) The oil filter adaptor was leaking pretty bad, so my mechanic replaced the o-ring. We degreased and washed under the Jeep really good so we could see what else might be leaking. After a good wash and dry, It appears that 90% of the slung oil under the vehicle was due to the bad oil filter adaptor o-ring. The rear-main seal is leaking a little, transmission pan gasket is leaking a little, and the valve cover gasket is leaking, too. So those items are also on the repair list.

2) The external in-line bypass transmission filter was replaced.

3) The external spin-on coolant filter was replaced.

4) I haven't touched the rear brakes since owning this Jeep, so the rear brakes were long overdue. I purchased a Rear Brake Overhaul Kit. The Cherokee now brakes much better. Unfortunately, and due to neglect, I used up a lot of my front pads that we installed not too many miles ago.

5) The brakes lines were gravity drained and the reservoir filled with Amsoil synthetic brake fluid.

6) Changed the oil with Amsoil Signature Series 10W30 and the filter with an Amsoil filter.

I've logged over 3,000 miles in a two month time period. We increased our bee hive operation and now we're adding new apiaries further into the backcountry. The XJ has surpassed the 200,000 mile mark!

We have decided to sell the Cherokee. It now has 203,000 miles on the odometer. It's still a daily driver, runs good, and shifts good. There’s no rust to speak of. We are in no hurry to sell, but I’m going to advertise it for what I believe is a fair price of $4,500. We have been using the Jeep to access our beehives all over the Zuni Mountains. But we have grown our bee operation to the point that we now need a truck to carry all of the equipment, and in some cases, we will be towing a trailer to carry hive equipment, large hive stands, and bear fences and cages. I’ve gone back and forth for over a year on whether or not we should sell it, but we are up to 4 vehicles now and at least one needs to go. please let me know if you are interested by emailing, texting, or calling.
